Mungret St. Pauls 0-17 Pallasgreen 1-14
Mungret St. Pauls were the first and last to score in this match which brought our men back to the Gaelic Grounds on Saturday 5 November when they met with Pallasgreen in what turned out to be a power struggle for both teams.
Mungret St. Pauls started out well notching up 7 points to Pallasgreens 3, but it was in the 26th minute of the game it all changed as Pallasgreen put the sliotar over the bar and into the net to bring them to level pegging with Mungret St. Pauls, they then added another point to go ahead. It was in injury time that Mungret St. Pauls got in another 2 points to bring them a slight edge going in at half time.
The second half saw Pallasgreen prosper but Mungret St. Pauls were nipping at their heals not letting them get too far ahead. A goal for Mungret would help but it was not forthcoming as much as the forwards tried. In the last 10 minutes of the game was when Mungret St. Pauls pulled together and with fresh feet on the pitch they struck 3 points onto the score in quick succession just before the full time whistle to see us into a replay. Well done to the team and mentors to getting the draw, we as a club have lost by a mere point in finals too often lately.
Not every team get a second chance to prove themselves but we hope to see a stronger Mungret St. Pauls team come out at the replay on Sunday 13 November at 2.30pm in Kilmallock .
