Monaleen 1-8 Mungret St. Pauls 0-6
It was the perfect setting for what turned out to be a great game of hurling against Monaleen in Claughaun on Saturday 22 October. The first 10 minutes of the game saw 2 points go to each team, the scores kept going back to a draw through the first half of the game but the half time whistle left Monaleen with a point lead, 0-4 to 0-3.
Fired up ready for the finale, the U-13s took to the pitch and the took the lead away from Monaleen half way through the second half only for Monaleen to bring it back to a draw 5 minutes later, It was into injury time that decided the winners as Monaleen got in a lucky goal while ahead by a point.
Up to injury time this was a very tight match with both sides leaving everything on the pitch, by the end Monaleen seemed to have a little bit more in the gas tank. Both teams should be very proud of their performance there was a lot of skill thoughout the pitch, we are guaranteed to see both teams in finals in the future.
