This Sunday 23 October starting at 11am our club will host the Liam O'Donoghue U-12 Hurling Tournament with a series of matches against visiting teams from St. Josephs, Doorabarefield, Eire Og, Nenagh and Clarecastle. Catering will be provided on the day by the hardworking Parents of our own U-12 Group and we welcome ALL hurling followers to drop in, have a cup of tea and a chat, and - most importantly - be entertained by the exceptional Hurling skills of these young players from the other Clubs.
This is a long standing tournament which is a great way to celebrate the sportsmanship of a past player who made an impact on the Limerick GAA scene. During a successful Limerick playing career Liam who played in both defence and attack, earned 4 Munster titles. In 1973 was on the team that won the Liam McCarthy and in 1981 achieved an All Star. Liam also took up the role of Coach for different teams after his playing career. He is still a Mungret St. Pauls supporter. Throw-in at 11am sharp.
