Mungret St. Pauls 1-15 Ballybrown 2-9
The neighbours met in Claughaun for the Junior B final where a great match was to be witnessed on Sunday 25 September 2016. Ballybrown took an early lead with the first point only minutes into the game but they were quickly halted by Mungret St. Pauls sending points to the score board. In the 21st minute of the match was the clincher for MSP as the ball was struck to the back of the net, this was to be Mungret St. Pauls only goal of the game and was quickly copied by Ballybrown in the next minute of play, followed up by the last goal in the game to come with in 5 minutes of each other. This second goal by Ballybrown saw the lead that MSP had build up quickly disappearing and at half time there was an even score sheet. It was still all to play for.
The second half saw Mungret St. Pauls come out running and with determination of not letting the neighbours take the title, Ballybrown were not going to let MSP walk over them and put up a great fight for the ball. With points going over for both sides it was Mungret St. Pauls that took the lead with the breeze. By the final whistle Mungret St. Pauls had a three point lead and the title of the Junior B Hurling City Championship Sponsored by DJ Daly Team Flag Ireland
