Adare 1-7 Mungret St. Pauls 1-6
To lose any match is hard but to lose a Semi final by one point after fighting hard to bridge the gap is heart breaking and this is what has happened to our hard working Intermediate Footballers. In Mick Neville Park on Saturday 24 September.
Adare had the advantage in the first half with the frst score of a lucky chance goal, followed by a point before Mungret St. Pauls replyed with a point. Half time held a low score of only 1-2 to 0-2. There was a lot of work done in the field but Adare sent a lot of chances wide which MSP's were glad of.
The second half saw Mungret St. Pauls cpme out and put the first point to the board. Yet again it was slow scoring but the goal by MSP send a renewed energy into the players and they kept up the pressure on the Adare team and near the end of the game a lovely kick saw the ball sore over the Adare goal to bring both team to a draw. With the clock ticking it was either next score wins or go on for extra time. Unfortunaly it was Adare sho got the next touch to the ball and directed it over the bar. A disapointing result but the guys can be happy with their performance and achiving a place in the Semi Final.
