Templeglantine 4-4 Mungret St. Pauls 1-1
There was disappointment for our U13 team as they exited the championship at the hands of Templeglantine on a score of 4-4 to 1-1. However this doesn’t tell the full story, as a combination of illness, school tours and other scheduling conflicts saw us shorn of 8 regulars, leaving us with the bare 15 to take the field. There were some fine performances however. Leah Nolan caused the opposition forwards endless problems, Jenny Ryan notched both our scores, and Aisling McGuinness was superb at center back. Amy Connolly and Brona Byrne worked very hard in midfield. Thanks to Caoimhe O’Rourke, Saoirse Casey and Aoife Long for stepping up from the U11 panel to help out, they played extremely well. Caoimhe O’Rourke produced two fine saves in goals, and was helped by a strong performance at full back from Ciara Brennan. Fiona Kinnevane and Caoimhe Culhane Keogh worked very hard throughout, and Holly Roche created a half chance for Caoimhe Nestor who drew a superb save from the keeper with a second half snapshot. Lucy Connolly also held the line well in the forwards and put the opposition clearances under constant pressure.
