MUNGRET MUSIC FESTIVAL
Last weekend has seen Mungret St. Pauls make its mark as a great music venue in the Mungret community. With months of planning and preparing the day finally arrived when we opened our gates to the thousands of festival goers. What a fitting setting for our inspiring line-up over the two days where we were thrilled to welcome Acoustra, Emma Lanford Music and Tiny Giants as the supporting acts for the main headliners, Hermitage Green and Nathan Carter. Both nights were a resounding success and enjoyed by all with a lot of requests to repeat it again next year. Well done to all the acts who entertained the crowd so well.
As always we need to send out a massive Thanks to all our generous sponsors (we will have a complete list next week). Our biggest THANK YOU goes to the people behind the scenes, the organising committee who did not sleep over the 3 days, the set up crew who put the site together, some people spent a week at the clubhouse getting the pitch ready for the gig. The catering committee who as always looked after all the volunteers very well keeping them topped up with tea and coffee. All the stewards that gave up their time to help make the concerts run smoothly and making sure all the festival goers had an enjoyable time. The clean up crew who arrived early on Sunday morning to take the site apart and bring the pitch back to its former glory. We can't explain how much we appreciate all the time and commitment you gave to the festival, the weekend would be nothing without you all. To everyone who turned up and supported Mungret St. Pauls, if the comments on facebook are anything to go by we know you had an enjoyable time.
On Sunday the weekend ended up with another great success in the form of the Artisan Market which, with the sun splitting the rocks a lot of customers arrived to walk the footpath to check out the stalls. We would love to see this Market appear again.
We are sure the committee are already working on their next event and we look forward to see what they have planned next.
