Mungret St. Pauls 3-10 Na Piarsaigh 1-12
It was in Clarina where the Junior B Hurlers had to play the Semi Final on Saturday 20 August against Na Piarsaigh. With weather more suitable for winter they took to the wet pitch and with a wind each player had to give it everything to achieve a win. The first half saw the sliotar quickly going from one end of the field to the other. Na Piarsaigh took control of the score board but Mungret St. Pauls were never too far behind. Half time there was a four point lead to Na Piarsaigh. Coming back to the pitch there was more determination on the Mungret St. Pauls players, they kept their concentration and it payed off in 2 successful goals which brought them level with a chance to win. This spured them on and they took the lead for the first time in the game. Na Piarsaigh tried to win back some scores but were denied by the Mungret St.Pauls defence sending the ball to the midfields where it was finished off nicely by the forwards, great team work ment Mungret St. Pauls proceed to the finals in the Junior B Hurling. We wish them the best of luck as they play Ballybrown in Kildimo on Sunday 28 August at 6pm. Please come out to support this great team.
