Mungret St. Pauls 2-7 Patrickswell 1-9
On a wet Monday night the U-16 hurlers traveled to Patrickswell on 1 August 2016. Patrickswell took the lead and held onto it tightly for most of the match. There were a lot of wides during the match which could of changed the play. Half time saw Mungret St. Pauls with only 3 points to Patrickswell 6 points a win was still achievable. The second half was where the boys steped the game up a notch, the highlight of the game was the goal that brought the lead to Mungret St. Pauls, with 2 points behind, the free was taken from the side line near the 25 yard line the sliotar was sent to land infront of the goal but ended up popping into the back of the net. This changed the game for our players and this one point lead was held onto for the last 7 minutes of the game. They next meet Na Piarsaigh in two weeks time.
