Mungret St. Pauls 4-11 Ahane 2-4.
Mungret St. Pauls U-11 footballers were out in Ahane this Saturday morning 23 July . We had a panel of 17 who were up against a lively Ahane side. The first half of the game was very competitive with both teams exchanging well worked scores. Luke Walsh converted a strong run on goal and Mungret were 2-6 to 2-3 up at half time. In the second half Mungret St. Pauls upped a gear and were winning some great ball all round the pitch. Our forwards started to take their scores well while midfield was well on top. Our backs were also very much on their game conceding one point in second half. There were some notable performances on the day with Diarmuid Hynes, Sean Cronin, Muiris Ahern, Christy Carroll, Ciaran o Connor, Luke Walsh all being outstanding. It was great to see our players off the bench making an impact as well noteable amongst these were Conor Johnston and Conor Galligan who scored an outstanding point. A big welcome back from injury to Conor Morgan and Cian Kinnevane who both contributed to our win. It is a testament to the spirit of the players that although we were missing a lot of players the team that took to the pitch performed very well and played for each other.
Parents should be very proud of the performances. Final score was Mungret St. Pauls 4-11 Ahane 2-4.
