Mungret St. Pauls 0-8 cois Loai Gaels 1-4
On Saturday 21 May the Mungret St. Pauls U-11 footballers were out in Effin to play Cois Loai Gaels in U-11 league. The match began at 10.30 and it was straight into action. Mungret St. Pauls started the better of the two going into a 3 point to no score lead after 5 minutes. There was some very nice interplay to achieve these scores. At half time Mungret led 5 points to one. The second half was a totally different story. The Gaels came out of their shells and really put it up to our lads. They got a very well taken goal and that score brought them within one point of us. Mungret then scored a point followed by another from Gaels. Mungret St. Pauls managed to hold on to the one point until the final whistle. The final score was 8 points to 1-4 in Mungrets favour. The game was hotly contested and proved a stern test for our players who will be the better for it. A big thank you to parents who offered great support to the team. On the day James Corcoran, Fintin Fitzgerald, Diarmuid Hynes were really on their game and these were ably assisted by all their team mates.
