Tune into TG 4 at 5.10pm today (Sunday 28 February) to see Catherine Murphy receive her award. (Well done again Cat)
Cameras were recording in Mungret St. Pauls for the first time in many weeks but they were not there for a match, they were there to interview our own Catherine Murphy, one of the most well-known and respected GAA figures in Mungret St. Pauls and Limerick Ladies Football, who we are delighted to announce was presented a 2021 President's Award.
The President’s Award acknowledges outstanding commitment and long service across the club and county network of the GAA, with 11 awards in total given out every year.
Catherine, who is currently our club Ladies Football Secretary along with being a referee and in December a linesperson in the Ladies Football Intermediate Final, will now feature in a special TG4 broadcast in February 2021 to highlight the work of the award winners.
Mungret St. Pauls are lucky to have a previous recipient of the award on hand to make the presentation to Catherine, this person was non other than her own mother, Kathleen who received her award in 2012. Also in the picture in Catherine’s father, Michael, a stalwart of the club and county LGFA scene for many years.
This is the third President’s Award bestowed on a member of the Mungret St.Pauls family with Pa O’Brien been previously honoured.
On behalf of the club, Ladies Football chairman, Larry Mason extended congratulations to Catherine on this Award. 'This is testimony to the endless and selfless efforts Catherine has put over many years for club and county as well as supporting the organisation by officiating at many provincial and national games in recent years.
Well done Catherine, this is fully deserved.'
