Mungret St. Pauls 4-9 Galbally1-7
On a lovely sunny Friday, 11 September in Mungret our Premier Minor Footballers played Gallbaly in the second round of the championship.
Mungret St. Pauls got off the mark quick and had secured a goal and a point but Galbally were quick in their response with a goal of their own, a pointed 45 brought the two sides level. Just before the water break Mungret St. Pauls struck again as they scored a second goal. The second quarter of the game did not see much action on the score board as the play was traveled up and down the pitch with Mungret St. Pauls defense strong in their team work. Mungret St. Pauls did add on another 2 points to Galbally squeezing in one near the end of the first half.

This half was where Mungret St. Pauls really showed how they worked well together as a team and each player did the job they needed to do, to keep Galbally at bay while Mungret St. Pauls had six of their players putting their name to a score. Three of Galballys 5 points in this half came from frees with Mungret St. Pauls converting two points from frees and 2 goals and 4 points from the play, this secured them an eleven point lead to win the game.
