Mungret St. Pauls 2-8 Claughaun 2-8
On a wet Tuesday, 8 September 2020 in Claughaun our Junior B Hurlers eventually got to play their second match in the Championship. This was an entertaining game.
A low scoring first quarter, Mungret St. Pauls took an early lead going 3 points up to one. Mungret St. Pauls added another point straight back on the pitch but Claughaun regained control and scored a point and a goal. From the puck out the ball went straight up toward the other goal and into the back of the net for Mungret St. Pauls to regain the lead, a foul in the square and Mungret St. Pauls got a penalty which was converted to widen the gap to 5 points. There was just one more point for Claughaun before the half time whistle.

Both sides exchanged points at the restart, a bit of a tussle on the pitch and Claughaun were down to 14 men. Mungret St. Pauls pointed another ball before a second yellow card to one of Claughauns players and they were down to 13 men with Mungret St. Pauls ahead by 5 points. Claughaun put in a stronger effort with Mungret St. Pauls getting used to the extra men, a point and a second goal for Claughaun narrowed the gap to only one point. Back from the water break Claughaun sent the sliotar between the uprights to level the game. There were tired legs on the pitch but both sides pointed another 2 points each to leave the game on an even score again.
