Mungret St. Pauls 0-13 St. Ailbes 3-2
On a dry Saturday 12 October 2019 in Crecora our Junior camogie team played a tight game against our usual Ladies football rivals, St. Ailbes. Mungret St. Pauls started out very well but a lack in concentration allowed St. Ailbes to slide back into the game. Mungret St. Pauls held on and won a place in the Final.

2 frees in the opening minutes began Mungret St. Pauls points, St. Ailbes first point came from a free as well in the fifth minute. It only took Mungret St. Pauls 8 minutes to point another 3 balls from play. It was at this stage that St. Ailbes started to hit back a free saw the ball clear all the hurleys and straight into the back of the Mungret St. Pauls net to give St. Ailbes their first goal. Mungret St. Pauls put that behind them and built up a good lead as they added on another 4 points to give them a 5 point lead. With only seven minutes left on the clock St. Ailbes received another free, the ball was struck toward the goal and tipped into the back of the net again for them. The next free awarded was again to St. Ailbes and the same result, their third goal, this knocked Mungret St. Pauls from the lead as on the last minute of normal play St. Ailbes scored another point to lead at half time by 2 points.

Mungret St. Pauls were slightly slower to score in the second half but in the first ten minutes of play, Mungret St. Pauls had leveled the score. Mungret St. Pauls tried hard for goals but were unsuccessful in each attempt, they also held St. Ailbes back from scoring anything in the second half especially when there was a dramatic minutes battle at the mouth of our goals which was cleared off with great team work. Mungret St. Pauls eventually won the match with 2 final frees which were excellently converted. Well done to this team and their management, we look forward with anticipation to the final.
