Mungret St. Pauls 1-9 St. Patricks 3-9

On Tuesday 11 September 2019 in Rhebogue there was a heavy breeze which Mungret St. Pauls began the match playing into the wind with a very slow start it took a lot from Mungret St. Pauls to target the uprights. There was a much improved second half game from Mungret St. Pauls but just not good enough to overcome St. Patricks.

It took 8 minutes for the first ball to get over the bar for St. Patricks who matched it with another 2 points. Mungret St. Pauls held off until the twelfth minute before they scored, the next score was for Mungret St. Pauls as well. St. Patricks went on to hit hard with a goal and a point. There were only 9 minutes left on the clock when Mungret St. Pauls produced their third point of the game. St. Patricks separated themselves from us more with an additional 3 points before the half time whistle.

The second half was more eventful, St. Patricks yet again opened the score but this time it was a goal they scored. Mungret St. Pauls pointed from a free, then St. Patricks took charge again and scored their third goal and another 2 points. There were many wides for Mungret St. Pauls as they were going for goals, in the last quarter of the match Mungret St. Pauls started to hit their stride and were the only ones to score to the end of the game but just not enough to win the game. The finished with a 2 goals difference left the group with a 3 way tie at the top between Mungret St. Pauls , St. Patricks and Na Piarsaigh. We await confirmation on the next match.
