Mungret St. Pauls 2-10 St. Senan's 3-11

On Thursday 15 August in Askeaton our second Minor Football team took on St. Senan's in the Minor B Championship Semi Final, the last time these two sides met Mungret St. Pauls only scored 3 points to St. Senans 2-10. Mungret St. Pauls team on the night were very young as the minor hurlers were kept busy with matches so the team was made up of mainly U-16 players who gave a great account of themselves.

They started from behind but soon made up for it but by half time they were still behind. The second half was their best play, after an already impressive first half. Mungret St. Pauls really showed their determination as they drew level with St. Senans and even went ahead by 2 points only for St. Senans to come back to retain the lead. With minutes left in the game, the two sides were level and it was anyone's game, as it turned out it was St. Senans, as a last minute goal and point swung it for them to take them through to the final. Thank you to our young players who stepped up on the night and to the players who committed throughout the competition. Our players got a great round of applause coming off the pitch.
