Mungret St. Pauls 3-10 Gerald Griffins 0-13
On Tuesday 23 July in Mick Neville Park the Limerick Motor Centre sponsored Intermediate Footballers took on Gerald Griffins in an even first half but a great display of football from Mungret St. Pauls in the second half to win the game for them.

Gerald Griffins held most of the possession in the first half putting up 2 points before the ninth minute of the game when Mungret St. Pauls pointed twice from frees. Gerald Griffins were scoring at each chance while Mungret St. Pauls were shooting more wides than points with both sides adding on another 2 points each before the whistle.

In the second half, Gerald Griffins came out stronger pointing another 2 balls. The Mungret St. Pauls side were struggling to get the ball into the Gerald Griffins half of the pitch for the first part of the game but they got a break, ran up the pitch and stuck the ball into the back of the net. Gerald Griffins pointed again to draw the game but Mungret St. Pauls produced another 2 points. Gerald Griffins went and and added 3 points unanswered taking a one point lead, not leaving them with the lead too long, Mungret St. Pauls took advantage, saw their chance and netted the ball for the second time. There was a point each and then the ball was kicked off the Gerald Griffins cross bar to bounce back to a waiting Mungret St. Pauls player to be sent to the net for the third time of the game. Mungret St. Pauls hit their stride and while Gerald Griffins pointed the next 2 balls it was the last of their score, Mungret St. Pauls closed out the match with the final 3 points and the win.
There are still another 2 matches to play in this championship and Mungret St. Pauls sit comfortably in second position at the moment.
