Mungret St. Pauls 1-8 Kildimo Pallaskenry 0-8

This was the City Championship Semi Final which was played in Clarina on Monday 24 June, the weather was ideal for this encounter. It was a great encounter between the two sides with Mungret St. Pauls coming out on top and progressing to the Final.

The game started out with a Mungret St. Pauls goal, Kildimo Pallaskenry brought the action back to the Mungret St. Pauls backs, the ball hit off the cross bar, it was a free that produced their opening point. Mungret St. Pauls were the next to point, the ball went to the other end of the pitch and Kildimo Pallaskenry scored 2 points on the hop. There was a point a piece, Kildimo Pallaskenry went on to go for a goal but it was sent to the wrong side. Kildimo Pallaskenry pointed again in the next play our goalie saved the ball. The half finised off with a point a piece with both sides even.

The second half took 15 minutes to get the score board moving again. Mungret St. Pauls wided 5 times while Kildimo Pallaskenry were aiming for goals there was some very impressive saves from our goalie. It was Kildimo Pallaskenry that eventually hit the target, Mungret St. Pauls followed with their own point less than a minute later. Keeping to an easy play Mungret St. Pauls worked their way up the pitch to another point. It was now the turn for the Kildimo Pallaskenry goalie as he denied a second goal for Mungret St. Pauls. Kildimo Pallaskenry scored their last point of the game to level the sides. With time ticking, the ball was worked up the field and Mungret St. Pauls directed the ball over the cross bar, the challenge now was to keep the lead. Mungret St. Pauls put pressure on the Kildimo Pallaskenry goalie again who sent the ball over the bar for a two point lead for Mungret St. Pauls, another launch on the Kildimo Pallaskenry goalie was diverted, a free for Mungret St. Pauls and the game was won.
