Mungret St. Pauls 1-13 South Liberties 0-18

In Mungret on Saturday 8 June 2019 our Limerick Motor Centre sponsored Premier Intermediates played South Liberties in a Division 3 league match. The sun had started to shine but there was a quick rain shower in the first half.

South Liberties were first to split the uprights but it did not take Mungret St. Pauls long to match their score. It then went point for point into the second quarter of the game, 4 points a piece. Mungret St. Pauls then got a break and went 2 points up. South Liberties tried to catch up but Mungret St. Pauls equaled their points. Mungret St. Pauls were only a point ahead when they benefited from a South Liberties miss hap as the South Liberties goalie went for a short puck out, the ball was returned to him but it slipped out of his hand and over the goal line to give Mungret St. Pauls a goal and a 4 point lead. Mungret St. Pauls scored their eight point before the break while South Liberties brought the game back to a 3 point lead.

The second half, Mungret St Pauls came out and scored a tight angle point from the field, followed closely with another point. A mistake by Mungret St. Pauls gave South Liberties a chance to pull back into the game, another 2 frees and a point from play brought them only one point behind Mungret St. Pauls. It went point for point again, just going into the final quarter of the match and South Liberties had drawn the game. Mungret St. Pauls started to look flat in the last part of the game while South Liberties were still actively looking for the scores Mungret St. Pauls only scored one more point, South Liberties scored 4 out of their seven chances giving them the two point win.

Mungret St. Pauls are out again on Saturday against Muroe Boher in Boher.
