Mungret St. Pauls 1-15 Fr. Casey's 2-10
On a lovely sunny Friday on 31 May in Abbeyfeale infront of very poor support the Limerick Motor Centre sponsored Intermediate Footballs fifteen players produced a great game against an evenly matched Fr. Casey's team. Mungret St. Pauls finished stronger and proved to be the better team on the day.

It only took a minute for Fr. Casey's to rattle the net, it took Mungret St. Pauls an additional minute and a half to return the score. Both sides exchanged a point but then Fr. Caseys tacked on another 2 points to gain a lead. Another exchange of points and then Mungret St. Pauls began to attack the Fr. Casey's goal, 2 great saves by the backs and Mungret St. Pauls eventually handpassed the ball over the bar. Both sides were off target with attempts on scoring and with 5 minutes left on the clock Mungret St. Pauls scored the last point of the half to draw the game for the third time.

Mungret St. Pauls came back stronger in this half and scored 2 points from the off, they kept this point lead for most of this half. It went point for point for the next 10 minutes, Mungret St. Pauls broke the pattern and scored an additional 2 points. Fr. Casey's hammered back with a goal, a free to Fr. Casey's drew the game for the forth time. Mungret St. Pauls powered on and were tight on their marking which made the Fr. Casey's kick outs hard with Mungret St. Pauls winning most of them they scored the next 3 points. To close out the game Fr. Casey's put in one last go and scored a point, with Mungret St. Pauls still 2 points in the lead.

This was a great game for Mungret St. Pauls and we would like to thank all the players who attended on a bank holiday Friday and traveled the distance to Askeaton, they were well rewarded with a win.
