The 3rd of May 2019 will be a sad day in our clubs history as we heard of the sad passing of our Vice President and former Chairman of our club, Raymond O'Hagan. A true gentleman in every way. Raymond was a leader in many ways as he made improvements to all aspects of GAA and school that he became involved in. A person who when he got involved in something he became totally commitment, always mentoring, coaching and improving right up to his last day. His biggest contribution has to be his loving family who are still very active and involved in the club today.

Raymond would call himself a 'poor player' only starting at the age of 14 with a club called Eire Og in Antrim, where he hailed from, his love for GAA was bred in him from both his parents, this passion, especially for football kept him involved in the sport. He went on to qualify as a national school teacher in 1955 and got involved in various roles in the school leagues. With his great interest in GAA he helped to found a new club called St. Theresa's in Antrim in 1963, Raymond was very proud in 2012 when he brought the Mungret St. Pauls U-13 hurlers at the time to St. Theresa's GAA club. This to Raymond was a great honor to bring his past and present clubs together. While in Antrim he became Vice chairman of the Antrim County Hurling board.

In 1974 Raymond moved to Limerick and in 1976 become the principal of St. Nessans school with only 143 students he went on to build up a great school to what we see today, one of many changes he put in place in St. Nessans school came from his passion of swimming, he believed all children before they finished in the school should be able to swim. He also believed they should all learnt to sew, explaining he was preparing them to become surgeons. When Raymond retired from St. Nessans he was replaced by another great man and his friend, the late Stephen Cahill.

Mungret St. Pauls GAA club were soon to see a change as Raymond got asked to come on board and help out in the club by John O'Grady. He helped to revive Camogie in the club for a short while in the late 70's.

He accidentally became involved in the Limerick Senior Football in the 1980's, he was asked to become a selector but the manager became injured and Raymond stepped in. The Limerick Football team were very strong and successful under his reign. Not stopping at the Limerick Football team Raymond went on to bring changes to the Munster Council that are still in place today.

Raymond was one of the driving forces behind many changes to the club for the better in his various roles in the club. He was Chairman in 1994 and Secretary in 1988 and 1998.

We would like to acknowledge Raymond’s family, his wife, Anne and children Deirdre, Bronagh, Maeve, Pearse, Kevin, Eamonn and Eoin. who have been a source of great support for Raymond in his endevours throughout his active years. Thank you Raymond the community is a better place because of your impact in it. We greatly appreciated.
In 2011 Raymond was interviewed about his love of GAA.
