Mungret St. Pauls 0-9 Na Piarsaigh 0-6

On a very cold 6 November, Tuesday night in Mick Neville Park the U-21s took to the pitch again for the second time as they played Na Piarsaigh. Majority of the supporters were for Mungret St .Pauls as they encouraged on the players. It was a game of many bad wides from both sides but Mungret St. Pauls took more chances and could have build up a bigger gap if chances were taken quicker.

It was third time lucky as Mungret St. Pauls succeeded to point their third attempt as the opening score of the game. Na Piarsaigh did not get their first score until the tenth minute to equal the score.

A wide each before Mungret St. Pauls pointed their free. More missed attempts by both sides until Mungret St. Pauls sent over 2 balls in quick succession, Na Piarsaigh replied with their own 2 points but it was Mungret St. Pauls who closed out the half on a pointed free and a 2 point lead.

The second half was similar to the first, with Mungret once more opening the scoring. There were few chances on goals but Mungret St. Pauls chance was knocked back into play when it bounced off the goal post. Both sides exchanged 2 points each before the crooked feet worked over time, Mungret St. Pauls going 5 wide to Na Piarsaighs 2. A perfectly played ball was send direct from Mungret St. Pauls players and up the field in the right direction and before the ball was over worked it was put to use as Mungret St. Pauls last point of the game, Na Piarsaigh were running out of time and put a lot of pressure on the back but all Na Piarsaigh worked up was their last point of the game.

The last game in the group is on Saturday 10 November against Newcastle West in The Bog Garden at 2pm.
