Mungret St. Pauls 2-19 Feohanagh 2-15

In Askeaton on the last of the group stage matches on Saturday 6 October. Mungret St. Pauls had already qualified for the Semi finals but Feohanagh needed a win to take themselves out of danger of relegation.

The game started with quick scores on both teams Mungret St. Pauls scoring 2 points, Feohanagh 2 points and a goal. Mungret St. Pauls were on the back foot and started to play catch up. A point from both teams still left a goal difference. A pointed free for Mungret St. Pauls narrowed the gap a bit but they secured a lead with an opportune goal. Feohanagh came back stronger with 2 points retaining the lead again. This play was followed by a point for point until Feohanagh took an extra point just before the break.


Mungret St. Pauls needed a good second half to put them back into the game, they opened the second half with a point, equaled by Feohanagh's free pointed. Mungret St. Pauls reply was another 2 points drawing the game. A penalty was awarded to Mungret St. Pauls only to be sent to the right of the post, collected by the umpire. A wide for Mungret St. Pauls and point for Feohanagh seemed to spur on the players who drew the game with a point. Minutes later the ball was worked back toward the Feohanagh half and sent into the back of the net. Mungret St. Pauls were on a roll as the Feohanagh puck outs were being sent back over the bar until they had a 7 point lead. With a few failed attempts both sides managed to score 2 points each. The second penalty of the game was awarded to Feohanagh but this one went to the back of the net. Mungret St. Pauls finished the game with their last point. This game was a great chance to play the younger members of the team.
