Mungret St. Pauls 3-5 Galbally 0-13

Mungret St. Pauls had the edge for most of this game where overworking the ball was a downfall, they scraped out a one point win in Staker Wallace on Sunday 9 September. After a wide Mungret St. Pauls pointed a placed bal to get the score board going, this was followed on by a well taken goal. Galbally were awarded a penalty,only to send it over the cross bar for a point as their first score in the ninth minute, Glabally then set up another 3 points to bring the game on an even score. Mungret St. Pauls did not rest easy until they pointed another ball only for Galbally to even it out again. A scored free a piece saw the game draw again for the third time in the first half. The second half saw Mungret St. Pauls loose a bit of their shape but they recovered well from it. A point from play for Mungret St. Pauls opened the restart and a try for a goal was expertly saved by the Galbally goalie. Galbally went on to add another 3 points to give them the lead for the first time but Mungret St. Pauls came back well with their second goal. Three wides for Galbally before they drew the game again. Going into the final quarter Mungret St. Pauls secured another point. The game was brought to a level score for the sixth time when Galbally struck the ball over the bar again, another 3 wides for Galbally until the edged ahead with one point and with injury time looming the ball was seen going up the field being passed on until it got passed into the back of the Galbally net, this was the clincher in the game giving Mungret St. Pauls a chance with a 2 point lead. Galbally battled on and with only one more point in them they lost out by just one point, with Mungret St. Pauls going through to the Final.
