On Saturday 8 September a very successful Pa O'Brien Tournament took place when Mungret St. Pauls welcomed 2 teams from Kilmallock, Clarecastle and one team from Newtown Shandrum and Newport. There was some spectacular play in this tournament and ran very smoothly. Each team played a final with Mungret St. Pauls 2 teams winning their finals along with one of the Kilmallock teams with the overall winners taking the Pa O'Brien tournament who were Newport after a fantastic match against Newtown Shandrum. Every player received a medal at the end of the day with a player from each team receiving a most improved player trophy. Well done to George Lloyd and Cian O'Connell who were presented the award. Thank you to the visiting clubs for giving some great challenging games, to all the parents who supplied the food and helped out in the kitchen, to Vinnie Gleeson and all the coaches for their help in set up and taking down the pitches and mentoring the players.
