Mungret St. Pauls travelled to Mick Neville park last Saturday to contest the group 3 u12 football league finals which comprised of 4 teams. We played Drom-Broadford in the opening match and even though they were a strong physical team we matched them for skill and determination. The game ended in a draw but in extra time Drom-Broadford scored two early goals which proved too much to claw back. The 4 teams now played two finals and we faced off against Galbally who had lost to Ahane in their opening match. With the day being so hot, there was a real chance our boys would tire especially after the extra time played earlier and with no break to the final. But that wasn’t to be the case. We defended very well and on the other side we got the goals at the right time. The game went to the wire though and we just held on in the end by a few points after some frantic efforts to keep out serious goal threats from Galbally. Well done all players who togged out in the day.
