The womens Irish Hockey team surprised a lot of people coming from second last in the ranks to overcome some great teams and make it to the World Cup Final where they played the top ranked Netherlands in the hot tempetures. We are very proud of the ladies who came off second best taking the silver medal. Hockey is quite similar to the GAA in that the players play for passion not for money. Roisin Upton was a former player with Mungret St. Pauls with one of her highlights being the captain of the winning Ladies Football Féile team. We would like to congratulate Roisin and her team mates on their fantastic achievement for Ireland, they have done their families, friends, clubs, counties and women in sport very proud.
