Mungret St. Pauls 1-11 Kildimo Pallaskenry 3-17
There was delay to the start with a downpour of heavy rain in Kildimo on Monday 30 July, luckily this was not to be seen during the match.
Kildimo Pallaskenry got a head start in the score with 2 goals and a point from play before Mungret St. Pauls took on their first score followed up by a free which was pointed. Kildimo Pallaskenry continued to add another 3 points before Mungret St. Pauls put over their third point of the game. It was not looking good for Mungret St. Pauls as Kidimo Pallaskenry finished the half strong with another goal and 3 points leaving a 13 point difference in score.
The second half started well for Mungret St. Pauls as they stepped up the game and worked the ball up the field scoring 5 points to Kildimo Pallaskenrys 4. A penalty was converted to a goal for Mungret St. Pauls this was accompanied with 2 points which brought Mungret St. Pauls to 7 points behind. It was at this stage that Kildimo Pallaskenry changed gear and prevented Mungret St. Pauls from scoring any more while they were scoring from all over the field. The second half was Mungret St. Pauls better half, this was the first match in the championship with another 3 to go.
