Mungret St. Pauls 4-10 Claughaun 1-14
On Friday 6 June in Claughaun Mungret St. Pauls played their third match in the championship. There was a point a piece before Mungret St. Pauls were quick to get their first goal of the game, followed by another 4 points before the boot was put to the ball for the second goal. This was leaving Mungret St. Pauls strong on the score board as Claughaun had only pointed 3 times, another point a piece when Mungret St. Pauls struck again with their final 2 goals. Finishing the half with an added point Mungret St. Pauls were 4-7 to Claughauns 0-5. It was looking great for our minors.
Into the second half and Claughaun were taking advantage for Mungret St. Pauls stand off approach to the game and scored a goal and 4 points unanswered. A penalty was awarded to Claughaun but was expertly saved by the Mungret St. Pauls goalie. It took the last quarter of the game for Mungret St. Pauls to take a run up the pitch and score their first point in the half to break the scoring streak of Claughaun. There was another 3 points for Claughaun before Mungret St. Pauls were to take the ball in had again and point their last 2 scores of the match with Claughaun signing off the game with their final 2 points.
The minor footballers are not due out again unto the June 20 when they play Galbally on home ground.
