Well done to our U-14 ladies football who traveled to Summerhill in Meath on Friday 28 June. When they arrived they got a chance to settle in and meet their host families before they went tonplay their first match against Carbury from Kildare. This was a great opening match with Mungret St. Pauls winning 4-8 to 1-3.
Next up they played Kinawley which proved another great game and Mungret St. Pauls persistance payed off as they took the win in this as well 5-3 to 2-5.
They had a break for the night as they prepared for their host team to be played on Saturday morning 29 June. This was a land slide game with Mungret St. Pauls scoring 7-5 denying and score to Summerhill. This result brought the girls into the quater final later the same day where they were to meet up with Magherafelt. This was a very exciting game with the scores going both ways but it was the last few minutes that determinded the winner as Magherafelt popes 2 balls over the bar to win 2-3 to 2-5.
We are delighted with our girls play and attitute to the game. They represented our club very well and can hold their heads up high on their results. We look forward to seeing their performance for the rest of the year. Well done girls, your mentors and supporters.
