Mungret St. Pauls 3-16 Granagh Ballingarry2-14
The Limerick Motor Centre sponsored Premier Intermediate hurlers got the result they wanted but worked hard to get it on home soil on Tuesday 12 June. An early goal for Granagh Ballingarry shook Mungret St. Pauls who missed 2 chances on goal and many points but on the 15th minute struck the net to bring them back into the game. Granagh Ballingarry were leading most of the first half and they got their second goal just before the break giving them a 2 point lead at the restart.
Mungret St. Pauls were sending the ball to the wrong side of the uprights while Granagh Ballingarry seem to be scoring comfortably while their defense had pulled together not letting Mungret St. Pauls players get near. Down 6 points Mungret St. Pauls had to pull something out of the bag, a placed ball was the start of the come back as Mungret St. Pauls maneuvered the ball around their forwards and after a tussle on the goal line the ball was over. They repeated the move and this time cleanly struck the net, this gave Mungret St. Pauls a one point lead. There was a confidence in the Mungret St. Pauls game for the remainder on the clock keeping Granagh Ballingarry at bay as Mungret St. Pauls took their scores.
