Mungret St. Pauls 0-10 Newcastle West 1-4
On Saturday 4 November our U-14 Footballers who already had the Féíle Football trophy on the shelf and came runner up in the U-14 C All Ireland Féile this year made history again for our club ad parish, when they brought home their second football trophy in the match against Newcastle West in Mick Neville Park.
All the hard work this team have put in all year has payed off well. Mungret St. Pauls were the favourite to win and started strong building on their score before half time Newcastle West only managed to get one ball past the Mungret St. Pauls strong defence, to put the ball in the net while Mungret St. Pauls sent the ball over the bar 7 times to give a 4 point lead going in at the second half.
Mungret St. Pauls never let their guard down, while they scored less in this half they worked at keeping Newcastle West at bay only taking points.
The homecoming was great in the club house as the two U-14 football trophies were reunited again and joined by last weeks U-14 County Hurling trophy. Well done to the parents, mentors and especially the players who put everything into each game and have been rewarded with the wins.
