Mungret St. Pauls 2-16 Monaleen 4-8
Saturday 7 September was a busy day for the club but it brought our U-14 players to Mick Neville Park where they were to play Monaleen in the Jack Lyons County semi final, the Féile final saw these two teams up against each other already this year with Monaleen taking the glory but with time and plenty of games since Mungret St. Pauls have improved but it would be seen if Monaleen had the same improvement over the last few months.
Mungret St. Pauls did not have the best of starts falling behind in the first half by 2 points in a low scoring half the second half took them to 8 points behind Monaleen but this Mungret St. Pauls team pulled together and brought their game back on track and with each point started to chip away at the lead til they drew level and with the excitment building the game came to the end of full time. Extra time was called for to prize these two teams apart and as usual with extra time the winning team is the one that has the legs to play it and with Mungret St. Pauls driving the ball up the field they closed half way through extra time 3 points up and holding onto the lead they came out the winners. They now face Doon in the final in a few weeks.
