Mungret St. Pauls 3-18 Na Piarsaigh 0-9
Set in the Gaelic Grounds on Wednesday 13 September the rain was put on hold for the whole match with Na Piarsaigh relying on frees for most of their points Mungret St. Pauls played the game that was asked of them.
With only seconds gone in the game Mungret St. Pauls had their first point on the score board and the lead they would retain for the rest of the game. Na Piarsaigh took their first score from a free and only added another 3 to this with only one of these from play in the first half. There were not many wides throughout the game. In the first half Mungret St. Pauls only took 4 of their points from frees the other 8, were from play.
The second half Mungret St. Pauls were ready to take on the next 30 minutes and prove they deserve the slot in the final. Na Piarsaigh opened the second half with a point then handed the game book to Mungret St. Pauls who slotted 3 sliotars over the bar before they rattled the net for the first time jump starting Na Piarsaigh back into the game who added two points to their score sheet and missing an opportunity. Mungret St. Pauls took over again and shot the sliotar to the forwards turning out another goal. The game was almost up when Mungret St. Pauls delighted the supporters with the goal of the match when the ball was sent from near the sideline and cleanly tucked in behind the goalie from a jump at the near side of the post. Na Piarsaigh signed off on the game with their final point. With the final whistle came the relief and realisation that this team along with their mentors have brought themselves into the Minor Premier County Final for the first time since 1993. 
It is not the first final this team have seen though, starting at the U-12 Community Games, this team have seen every final in under age from then on only loosing the U-13 in the Gaelic Grounds to Patrickswell while claiming all the rest. 
They now prepare to play Garryspillane who they lost to by 2 points only 2 weeks before.
