Mungret St. Pauls 1-10 Claughaun 3-13
In Clarina on a blustery Friday 18 Aug, Mungret St. Pauls did not have a good day as Claughaun proved to be a better team on the score board.
The game started strong for Mungret St. Pauls when they took a quick lead with a goal, to be their only one in the game. Claughaun came back punishing Mungret St. Pauls with 4 points and a goal unanswered. Mungret St. Pauls were not getting many chances letting only one go wide before they struck a point just after the 20th minute of the game, this they followed up with another quick point, with a free pointed for both sides the end of the first half closed with Claughaun adding on another 2 points.
The second half Mungret St. Pauls had the breeze, but this could send the ball in the wrong direction. Again Mungret St. Pauls came out strong closing the gap with two points from play, Claughaun were not resting and passed another 3 balls over the bar while Mungret St. Pauls were playing simple ball they were getting their points in until Claughaun tucked another ball in behind our goalie. Claughaun held possession of the ball while Mungret St. Pauls were tirelessly defending they took points when they could but were unfortunate to not get the ball cleared up the field enough to break Claughaun.
This leaves Mungret St. Pauls 4th in the group table with Glin and Bruff still to play who are currently under Mungret St. Pauls.
