Last Wednesday Mungret U-12 footballers were invited to Fitzgerald Stadium to participate in an opportunity to play on the pitch against three teams. Unfortunately we were limited in the numbers we could bring. Our first game was against Bishopstown of Cork. We played very well to win 3-6 to no score. Our next game was against Dr. Crokes Killarney which was a tougher game but we came away winning 3-5 to 1-2. Our final game was against Churchill Tralee where we were too strong winning 9-3 to 1-1. Overall all our players were excellent on the day showing great commitment and desire to be involved and to their fellow teammates. There was some great attacking football played but we were also very strong in defence with some brave blocks and tackling. The boys were a credit to their club and families. Thanks to coaches and parents who travelled and supported the boys.
