Mungret St. Pauls 1-14 St. Patricks 1-10
Thursday 20 July had our footballers on home ground with St. Patricks. The rain made an appearance for the second half and did not give up. The game started off on a point for point for most of the first half, Mungret St. Pauls held a one point lead by the break.
The restart brought a more interesting game within the opening minutes Mungret St. Pauls struck the ball into the St. Patricks net along with 3 unanswered points Mungret St. Pauls were looking strong. They put pressure on the St. Patricks forwards forcing three wides and only 2 points with Mungret St. Pauls canceling out those with their own 3 points. There was a lot of work in the pitch trying to obtain posession, St. Patricks made use of Mungret St. Pauls lack in consentration and came through with a goal of their own acompanied with 2 points. Mungret St. Pauls produced 2 more points before St. Patricks closed the game with a pointed free.
With only a 4 point win Mungret St. Pauls needed double that to get top of the table in this game.
