Mungret St. Pauls 4-24 Monaleen 1-10
On a lovely summer afternoon in Mungret the Junior Hurlers took on Monaleen on Sunday 16 July. This was a very one sided game with Mungret St. Pauls coming out on top.
Mungret St. Pauls opened the game with a shot gone wide with Monaleen following with their own wide shot. Mungret St. Pauls then struck the sliotar into the Monaleen net. Mungret St. Pauls followed on with an additional 3 points before Monaleen managed to break the play with their first point of the game. Monaleen were off target with a lot of their frees and chances going wide. Mungret St. Pauls sent their own fair share of wides but a shot on goal was saved and resulting in a 65 that Monaleen sent shot of the uprights and back out to play. Mungret St. Pauls second attempt on a goal was bounded away to become a 65 dutifully pointed. Mungret St. Pauls continued adding to the score sheet not letting Monaleen in until the dying the minutes of the first half when they produced a third point to go with Mungret St. Pauls 3 goals and 11 points.
The second half, Mungret St. Pauls did not put on as much pressure on Monaleen and they added more points. Mungret St. Pauls only stuck in one more goal but more than doubled their points. Monaleen sealed the game off with a ball in the Mungret St. Pauls net for their final score. Mungret St. Pauls had great support at this match which would be great to see at each match.
