Mungret St. Pauls had a strong start with a point and goal within minutes of the starting whistle but it was also a half with 16 wides for Mungret St. Pauls, while getting 4 goals and 5 points. The defense made it difficult for Ballybrown to get in and when they did they took a goal, it was on the 15 minute mark when Ballybrown got a point to join their goal and struggled to work their way up the pitch to put over another 2 points by the half time whistle.
Mungret St. Pauls had a considerable lead at this stage but could not let their guard down in the second half.
Ballybrown made the supporters gasp in the opening stages of the second half as they sent the ball soaring straight across the goal for it to pass it out and go wide. This half saw Mungret St. Pauls converting all 5 of their scoreable frees added another 5 from play they notched up another 3 goals while Ballybrown scored a strong goal and sending their frees wide they only managed 2 more points. This was a good match for Mungret St. Pauls to get under their belt.
