Our U-12 football had two teams out again this week with the Reds v Ahane
Mungret U-12 Red team played against a strong Ahane team in Ahane on Friday last. Mungret started strongly but did not have much to show on the scoreboard until we got a goal. Ahane then hit back with 2 quick goals before half time to leave Mungret down a point at half time. The second half was a very physical affair with Mungret standing strong and with a goal and some nice point kicking ran out  2-7 to 2-4 winners. Panel on the night was: Conor Hurley, Cian Gleeson, Cian Kinnevane, Marcus Lyons, Ben Gallagher, Conor Morgan, Ben O'Dwyer, Billy Dervan, Ross O'Carroll, Denis O'Dwyer, Jake O'Sullivan, Christopher McSweeney, James Corcoran, Tom Lloyd, Luke Walsh, Sean O'Halloran, Cian Baggot and John Wright.
The Whites team played against Kildimo in Kildimo. The Whites had a slow start conceding 3 goals in first seven minutes of the game. This put us under a little pressure with our players having to dig deep to go in at halftime with a draw at 1-7 to 3-1 with a somewhat unusual but well taken goal. In the second half Mungret began to dominate and restricted Kildimo to one score. The boys got their shooting boots on and were far more competitive and won a lot of ball. The final score was Mungret 1-13 Kildimo 4-1. Impressive on the night were Cian Maloney, Christy Carroll, Diarmuid Hynes, Muiris Ahern Tom Lloyd and Fintin O Kelly but all players contributed to a good match.
