Mungret St. Pauls 6-13  Newcastle West 3-5
On a lovely evening the U-14 hurlers took to the senior pitch where they welcomed Newcastle West. Having lost in their first match for the Jack Lyons County trophy they were prepared to take on Newcastle West. Ignoring all the excitement from the community games racing in the next pitch the Mungret St. Pauls boys got to work straight away. they played confidently and full power. Mungret St. Pauls only allowed Newcastle West to break the defense once to put a point in before half time while they place some lovely ball over and under the bar before the whistle.
Coming out in the second half they new Newcastle West needed to start out stronger and braced themselves. This worked well with Newcastle West seeking an unmarked player to put in their scores. Mungret St. Pauls were still in flying form taking any strikes they could to score most were successful.
