After losing out in the ‘A’ league semi-final spot on score difference, our U-14 ladies contested the ‘B’ league semi-final with St. Ailbes on Monday evening 22 May. In the first half scores were at a premium. Mungret St Pauls barely showing their usual pace and skilful play but with a well-timed goal in the dying minutes of the half we went on to lead 1-01 to 0-02 at half-time. After some key words and good motivational speeches from the coaches our U-14 ladies returned to the field with renewed vigour.  We began to see more of their usual skills and precise football that we have become accustomed to from this U-14 side, resulting in 2 quick goals in the first 5 minutes of the half putting us firmly in control of the games. From there Mungret St. Pauls limited St Ailbes to a single point in the half. Mungret St Pauls closed out the game on a score-line of 4-05 to 0-03. Our ladies deservedly earning their place in the ‘B’ cup final. Details of opponent, venue and time yet to be decided.
