Over the past couple of weeks Mungret U12 Hurling players have played a number of challenge and league matches. The 13 a side team played Monaleen (draw) and Ballybrown (won) in two great games. The 11 a side team played Ballinacurra Gaels (won) with game v Kildimo/Pallaskenry postponed. The players also played challenge games against Ogonnelloe/Scarriff (Clare) – won and Murroe Boher (won). The players were invited to participate in a festival of hurling hosted by the Cistercian College Roscrea last Saturday. We brought 20 players – one team in group A and one team in group C. All players played an hour of hurling against teams from Tipperary, Offaly, Laois. The standard of hurling was very competitive with all players demonstrating their skills from training. The players came away with 5 wins and two losses from the seven games. Thanks to Brendan Mckeogh, Director of Sport in Cistercian College Roscrea for organising a fantastic event.
