Last weekend saw a fantastic weekend for the club and the surrounding community. It began with the Childrens race on Saturday 13 May with the children in their different ages taking part in a 100 meter sprint, then there was the novelty races of 3 legged, Sack and the popular Obstical Course. Well done to all our young participants who had great fun on the day. The Sunday 14 May saw the slightly more experienced runners and walkers take part in the 10K run and 6K walk. The medal this year was a marvelous addition. Congratulations to the winners of the 10K- Colm Turner and Grace Lynch (broke ladies record), the Pat Barron Club trophy went to John Roche. Well done to all the runners and walkers who took part. Once again this year the Mungret 10K was supporting a much deserved cause, the Limerick Marine Search and Rescue over the last 7 years the club with the entrants help have raised over €50,000 for this amazing Charity. It is not possible to do any of this without our 10K committee, some members have been there since the beginning some have had to step back and more have come on board. We would like to acknowledge all those have been part of the committee who without their organising the 10K would not of ran so easily, as usual our biggest Thank you is to our volunteers who helped steward on the day and are there in the background preparing the many different parts of the weekend.
