Our U-16's played the county shield final Wednesday 3 May against Monaleen in Ahane. Its fair to say we struggled in the 1st half to compete with our opposition and get up to the pace of the game allowing them build up a significant lead. However what we know about this bunch of fine young ladies is that they have an abundance of character and are never beaten until the final whistle. After a re - group at half time and a few words of encouragement the second half as a completely different story we battled and fought with renewed vigor and began to take our scores and chip away at the lead. With a couple of minutes to go we were just a goal down but unfortunately time was not on our side and a late point from Monaleen secured there victory on a score line of 5-7 to 4-6. The analogy of a game of two halves certainly describes the encounter. Well done to all involved.
