Senior ladies: Mungret St Paul’s senior team had their third outing in Div. 1 of the league last Friday against Feohanagh / Castlemahon. MSP started very well with a goal in the opening minute and kept up the scoring, never giving Feohanagh / Castlemahon a chance to string a few passes together. Marvellous teamwork throughout saw MSP well ahead at the half time break. The situation didn't really change for Feohanagh / Castlemahon in the second half.  Their county players (all levels) showed well for Feohanagh / Castlemahon but MSP just had a better balance on the day and came through with a comprehensive win.

Junior ladies: Next up for the junior team is the league fixture vs Groody Gaels (St Patrick’s & Monaleen) on Wednesday evening in the village pitch.

Minor ladies: The B shield final is the next game for our minors vs Casey Colbert’s (Athea and Fr Casey’s). Details to be finalised.

U16 ladies: On a bitterly cold Monday evening our U16’s travelled to Herbertstown to take on St. Brigid’s in the league. Our girls battled hard and trailed by 2 points at half time. Not wanting to let the match get away from us, our girls came out in the second half in fighting form. Determination, teamwork and a few good goals resulted in a well-deserved win on the night with a final score 6-6 to 4-4. Well done to all on a great effort but, unfortunately, we miss out on the A Shield Final due to score difference by just 3 points with Knockainey and St Brigid’s contesting this final next weekend.  Training continues next Thursday evening from 6 to 7pm.

U14 ladies: MSP continued their league campaign with a home match vs Drom/Broadford. MSP started the match dominating procession but failed to convert all their scoring chances. Drom/Broadford caught MSP on the break by converting a penalty to narrow the score to 1-08 to 1-02 at half time. MSP started the 2nd half much brighter and quickly finished off the match as a contest recording a very solid 3-11 to 2-02 win.  The game was cut short at the request of our opponents so we missed out on the chance to get more of our panel onto the pitch for the final minutes of the game. Or U14s are playing great football and we have won all our matches so far. This Wednesday we travel to face Monagea in the re-scheduled fixture.

U12 ladies: We had a week off and most ladies even skipped training last Saturday. We think most of the dads were anxious to watch another team in red on the TV instead.

Our Easter Raffle was a great success and thanks to everybody who purchased tickets and to those who donated Easter Eggs for the draw. It is much appreciated. Our thanks to Kathleen, Catherine and Mary Murphy for organising this for our Academy players.

Also, well done to all our players who appear in the Spring edition of the Green and White magazine.
